Now there is a new way to protect packaged merchandise or open live merchandise on display with an alarming EAS tag!  Introducing the 3 alarm Thunder Tag TM and the 2&3 Alarm Versalok TM

3 Alarm Thunder Tag TM

Simply attach the 3 Alarm Thunder Tag with the included adhesive to any merchandise with a flat service that needs security.  The tag measures just under 2”x2” in size and can work in most situations where you need to secure an asset.  Click here to learn more.

The tag works with your existing EAS security system and includes 3alarm technology:

1. EAS Protection: Activates EAS alarm if a breach occurs
2. Early Detection: Alarms when merchandise is tampered with in store
3. Extended Range: Self alarms if merchandise is removed from store

2&3 Alarm Versalok TM

The Versalok provides retailers with both security and flexibility by combining a reusable alarming module tag with a disposable trace.  The protection options are nearly limitless!

The unique feature of this solution is the disposable trace.  The trace acts like a circuit and if broken it will trigger the Versalok tag to alarm.  The means you can use the trace almost like tape to seal boxed merchandise.  If someone tries to open the box to steal items inside the trace will break causing the alarm to go off.

Versalok is an EAS tag so it will work with your existing alarm systems.  Click here to learn more.

At Halo we are accustomed to securing tablets on display for consumers to purchase.  But more and more the use of tablets has spread to become a piece of equipment used for everyday business.  For example many businesses are using iPads to process payments, as part of self-serve kiosks, for inventory tracking or ordering, and many other applications.  Customers are asking for security solutions that protect tablets used as tools of business.
We are excited to announce the new CT50 Commercial Tablet Protection meets the security and user experience needs of tablets used for everyday business.  The heavy duty security features of the CT50 include:

• Ability to lock down an iPad in either landscape or portrait mode
• Allow the device to be powered by its OEM cable
• Easy release of the iPad for when you need mobility
• A very secure locking mechanism unlocked only with a proprietary key

The CT50 is due to be released later in Q1 of 2014.  Contact your local sales representative for details.

We are coming to the end of a special year which marked our 25th anniversary.  Throughout the last quarter century Halo has seen the retail landscape change dramatically.   But some things remain consistent, including Cheryl’s annual creation of a holiday themed opus

As a special treat we have taken one of Cheryl’s “famous” customized ballads and put it into a YouTube animation with a special message.  As has become our tradition, Halo has made a donation to the Parkinson Society of British Columbia in lieu of sending Christmas cards.  This is our 12th annual donation to Parkinson’s, in memoriam to Bill Gillott, our founder.  We thank you for supporting us in that.

Watch our animation by clicking on the image below and help us by sharing the video.  If we can get 5,000 views we will double our donation to $10,000!.

See the video for details.  We wish you a safe and Happy Holiday season, and a very Happy New Year!

New premium lens solutions are being introduced by major brands to be used in conjunction with smartphones.  These self-powered lenses clip onto the phone and utilize their display and flash.  Our existing multi-port solutions have been tested with these new devices, providing great security and customer experience.

The Series 940 LP sensor, can easily attach to any smartphone with its low profile medallion.  Thanks to the patent pending Friction Fit micro USB connection, the same sensor, without the medallion, can power and protect the new lenses.  A 4-port Series 940 POD, with IR extender, allows both devices to be displayed together and managed with one IR interface.  Call your local sales representative for more information!

Smart watches are hot and Halo Metrics has the best way to display them securely.  We will be offering a clear acrylic watch form (AF6324) that magnetically snaps onto the Series 2000 landing pad (MP202), creating an attractive display. The innovative stand will work with any mini-sensor, including Zips! 100 single sensor (EM3201) or the new Series 940 mini sensor (EC9478)

This modular approach enables watches to be protected individually using Zips! 100 with a Series 940
1-port POD, or as a group with our multi-port PODs (Series 940 4-port pods, or the 18V branded solutions).  This new solution is scheduled to launch later this year.  Call your local sales representative for more information!
